Welcome Back!
Summer at MDYC

We are planning to open our Jack & Patti Salter Club in Royal Oak and our Levin-Comer Club in Detroit for summer programming June 21st. On this page, you will find all the information related to Summer and hear about any updates to our offerings. Right now, we are still accepting registrations for summer in Royal Oak, and our Detroit location is currently full.

For Summer 2021, registration and admission is approved by emailing Mike Schlaack for Royal Oak. At Royal Oak, we are offering half day camps, and you can find the description and schedule for these camps below.

Summer Flyers for In-Person

May 1 Update & Membership Info:

Thank you for reaching out about MDYC’s summer program. While we have been proud of our Club members and the MDYC team as they have navigated the pandemic through our online programming, we are really looking forward to the return to in-person.

At this point we are aligning our efforts with local health departments and current CDC guidelines. Safety is guiding our plans.

We are planning to open our Jack & Patti Salter Club in Royal Oak and our Levin-Comer Club in Detroit for summer programming June 21st. While we are looking forward to connecting with Club members in-person, we are making sure to keep our numbers at a safe level. While we know this won’t be at the levels we enjoyed prior to the pandemic, we are planning a modified schedule where we will be open Monday through Friday from Noon – 4 PM.

It feels good to know this is another step that will put this pandemic behind us. Our Club members deserve a rich summer experience that includes growth, learning, healing, playing, safety and most important of all, a summer filled with fun memory-making experiences.

We are guided by MDYC’s Core Values. Our values inspire us to Innovate Through Mission.

At Metro Detroit Youth Clubs, our North Star is our youth. We provide quality programs serving the youth that need us most. Our promise as an organization is to provide a safe and accessible space where transformation can occur. Building on mission, our Core Values highlight 9 core areas of focus that differentiate and define what we do.

Serving youth in Detroit, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Southfield and Washington Township, MDYC’s approach is to help our members learn, grow, lead, and succeed.
