Celebrating An Amazing MDYC Basketball Season!

Intermediates (Ages 10-12)

Congrats Bulls!

Bulls win! Bulls win! Bulls win! It was an exciting 38-37 finish with the game-winning basket coming just seconds before the final buzzer sounded. The Bulls completed an amazing turnaround to win the 2023 MDYC Intermediate League Playoffs.

With a record of 2-8 during the regular season, the Bulls showed heart, effort and belief to make their way to the championship. First, they beat the Celtics 29-28 in the first round of the playoffs, only to be matched up against the #2 seed Heat in the semifinals. With an impressive 30-14 performance, the Bulls moved on to face the 1-loss Pistons in the championship game on March 7. The score could not be closer with the Bulls edging out the Pistons 38-37. Junior B (Ages 8-9)

Congrats Wolverines!

Hail to the Victors! The Wolverines won MDYC’s Junior 8-9 Basketball League Playoffs! A double overtime thriller in the championship was the most dramatic way to end an amazing season where all four teams played great throughout.

Finishing the regular season with a 6-2 record, the Wolverines were the top seed going into the playoffs. This did not make their path easier because all four teams in the Junior League were hard to beat. In the semifinals, the Wolverines beat the Broncos 22-6, setting up a championship match on March 6 against the Grizzles. The Grizzlies and Wolverines split the regular season series 1-1, so this matchup was set to be an instant classic. And it was! An 18-16 double overtime win for the Wolverines!
